Pound Cottage
This cottage still survives on Dartmoor today and can be found in the centre of Lustleigh. Its name derives from the activities of the village constable. In the 17th century, he was responsible for arresting offenders, putting them in the village stocks and for impounding stray animals in the village pound - hence the name Pound Cottage. The pound no longer survives, with its location now being marked by the Village Green.
