Working at the winding shaft, Great Rock Mine

Great Rock Mine, Hennock, was owned by the Ferrubron Company, which had previously operated ore mines at Shaptor, Hawkmoor and Plumley. This mine was worked until its closure in 1969. Bottom of 'Beadon Pit', a small underground shaft sunk to work ore below the floor of the level.
