Buckfast village

Buckfast is a small village on the banks of the River Dart mainly known as the location of Buckfast Abbey, a Roman Catholic Benedictine monastery with the original abbey on this site in 1018. In the distance can be seen the Holy Trinity parish church set on an esparpment known as Black rock. There is a fine example of a thatched cottage in the foreground.
