Police lead the first cars on the newly-opened A30 at Sourton Cross

This photograph marks the opening of the Okehampton by-pass with the first traffic passing on the Sourton Down stretch, led by a police convoy. The lorry on the hard shoulder is loaded with travel control signs - presumably just removed when the road-building work was completed.
