Manaton Church
Manaton Church is dedicated to St. Winifred, a 7th century Welsh saint. The church was rebuilt in the late 15th century mainly of granite ashlar. The superb rood screen visible in the photograph dates from about 1490 and has eleven bays stretching across the nave and both aisles. The interior of the church was restored between 1874 and 1891. Burnard's photograph was taken on 13 August 1889. The church pews were replaced in 1924.
