Belstone incised wall stone
Belstone is a village on the northern edge of Dartmoor. The incised stone has probably been relocated from its original site. The age and function of the stone are not known, although it may have been part of a boundary marker. Website Comment 29/4/10 "The above stone was resited & secured INSIDE the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Belstone in 2005. It was discovered during demolition work in the 19th century, when this stone had been used, face down, as the threshold to the Church Meeting Room. Later it was built into the garden wall of the Rectory, one mile west of the Church, but when that wall was demolished in the 1930s, it was returned to the Church & leant against the outside of the north wall." It is not known whether the stone is still situated in the wall.
