Drizzlecombe standing stone
The great menhir in Drizzlecombe near the River Plym, part of one of the largest complexes of prehistoric ceremonial remains on Dartmoor, including stone rows and burial cairns. At 4.2m it is the tallest monolith currently standing on Dartmoor and at the winter solstice casts its shadow along its associated stone row. Robert Burnard supervised the re-erection of this and other stones in the complex in 1893.
