Inscribed rock in the Cowsic river

The photograph was taken on 11 May 1889. Burnard's comment was "the large central stone has inscribed on it 'This stone was moved by a flood 17--'. Inscription placed on it by the Revd Mr. Bray". Rev Bray was the Vicar of Tavistock and would have been born sometime during the late 18th century.
