Pixies Holt Entry
Dartmoor legends refer to sightings of pixies in Dartmeet, near to the Dartmeet Clapper Bridge. The spot is particularly attractive during summer months, underneath sycamore trees, and forest foliage. The photograph shows the narrow entrance to a long passage, 37 feet long, formed of granite slabs. The passage is 4 feet wide, and high enough for a man to stand in. Pixies Holt in now home to an education centre, and Pixieland, 'the home of the Dartmoor pixie and Dartmoor's most famous gift shop.'
