Sticklepath Stone Boundary Marker
The age and original purpose of this incised stone is not known but it is now used as a parish boundary marker. It is possible that a similar incised stone now located on Sourton Green is of tenth century date. The meaning of the symbols on the stone is not known. The stone was originally moved in 1829 to the down above the road between Sticklepath and Skaigh. The stone and its location was described in 1899 in Lloyd Page's //An Exploration of Dartmoor// and from this evidence it can be shown that the stone has been re-erected again during the twentieth century in a different orientation.
