Lane at Widecombe in the Moor

The photograph was taken on 5 August 1889. The list of church rectors of Widecombe starts at 1253 and the ancient manor of Widecombe was mentioned in a document dated to 1291. In 1346 the Black Death plague severely reduced the local population.
