Workers at Meldon Quarry

This 1937 photograph of the workers at Meldon quarry shows the men standing behind the railway line that travelled through the quarry. Rock from the quarry was used over the southwest of England as railway ballast. Meldon quarry was a major employer in the Okehampton area.
