Lydford railway station in the 1927 flood

1927 was a particularly wet year with heavy rainfall and floods all over the country. Lydford station was no exception. This photograph shows the railway staff (Station Master Williams in the centre) standing on the flooded platform. Behind them the water can be seen to be still pouring off the platform onto the railway track.
