Farmhouse entrance

This photograph of a farmhouse entrance is similar to da103351. Certain features are identical- the stone steps with rough ground in front, the dog, the covered porch entrance and the vegetation growing around the doorway - though the left hand side is less fully covered in this photograph. To the left of the doorway is a mounting block-used by riders to mount horses. The stone paving, broom and mat help prevent too much mud and dirt from entering the house; the garments visible in the entrance are at hand for poor weather. This entrance, despite its functional appearance, is well built
